Borges Presses Ben West Jr. at Donelson/Hermitage Hermitage, TN. – Juan Borges, candidate for state representative in the Tennessee 60th district, questioned Ben West Jr. about his support to provide drivers’ licenses & certificates to illegal immigrants in Tennessee. In a debate held on Monday night at the Hermitage Police Precinct, Juan Borges unveiled his 3 point policy concerning illegal immigration. The policy that Borges will enforce includes:
In the debate, Ben West Jr. simply stated that he was against it. “Actions speak louder than words. Ben says he’s against illegal immigration, yet he voted to give more than 180,000 illegal immigrants driving privileges. He also voted against a bill which ensured that illegals could not vote. “Ben West believes that
those whose first decision in our country was to break the law should be
awarded driving certificates and voting rights. Ben awards these rights at
the expense and personal safety of law abiding citizens,” Borges said. Juan Borges, who received a resounding endorsement from Tennessee Right to Life, affirmed his commitment to protect Tennessee’s unborn. “Ben West may have voted for the license plate, but his voting record shows that he is more concerned with protecting the sanctity of the Tennessee Legislature than the sanctity of life,” Borges said in a recent release. On taxing Tennesseans, Ben West Jr. states that he voted against a state income tax, yet he voted to increase the sales tax and he’s in favor of a cigarette tax. Ben West Jr. further added financial burden to Tennesseans by voting to increase taxes on electric, phone and cable TV services. Juan Borges graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He was a correctional officer with the Davidson County Sheriffs Department. He currently serves as a highly decorated officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department. Juan is endorsed by Tennessee Right to Life for his commitment to protecting Tennessee’s unborn. He is also endorsed by the Teamsters Law Enforcement league, an organization which represents over 30,000 law enforcement officers. ### |
