STATE REP CANDIDATE JUAN BORGES ANNOUNCES JOBS PLAN

(Antioch)- Juan Borges, candidate for the State House of Representatives, today announced his plan for job growth and economic improvement in Davidson county.

1) No State Income Tax – A state income tax is NEVER an option because income taxes hurt Tennessee’s workers. Taxes on small businesses should be lowered to promote growth and the hiring of quality employees, and most importantly, to create new jobs. Tax cuts are critical to create jobs in our area.

2) Reduce Healthcare Costs – Tennessee businesses need more flexible healthcare plans to encourage economic growth and reduce costs. Everyday Tennessee workers would then receive better healthcare coverage and lower costs.

3) Better Job Training and Vocational Education – Tennesseans deserve better paying jobs. To be successful in the 21st century workforce, we need increased funding for job training programs and partnerships between local schools and local employers.

“Tennesseans are hard working folks and they deserve leaders who will do everything in their power to bring better paying jobs to our area. My opponent has been content with our current system and its time we have someone in office to bring new ideas to solve this problem. We need a state representative who will work to bring more jobs to our communities and that is what I plan to do when I’m elected,” said Juan Borges.

The national unemployment rate is at 4.8 percent while Tennessee’s is currently at 5.9 percent--a three year high for the state.
